I have a problem with the engine hesitating/surging at 2 - 3 k, Ive been told its the EGR valve. I have read these forums and seen some people blank them which apparently is hard to get to on the 207, is this true? by wheeler » Tue Nov 05, 2019 10:11 am. You could always use a can of wynns EGR3 spray for cleaning in situ. You just spray it in air intake & it also cleans the whole inlet track. Hopefully it will clean the inlet manifold that the EGR valve is currently making a mess of.

After reading various posts, I did not find a similar one, so I assume another one related to HDI and EGR. Well, I got a Peugeot with the typical symptoms of a damaged EGR. After PP diagnosis, two continuous errors P0490 EGR insufficient performance, valve closed too close to reference value, and P0401- Measured air quantity higher than set value.
They havent located the failure yet, but suspect it to be EGR valve failure or broken valve spring. Symptoms match EGR failure, but having a snapped cam chain repair, it is likely that one or more valve springs could have been beaten. Anyone in here having broken valve spring experience? Btw: Peugeot refuses to compensate since the car milage Remove pipes going to and from the airbox, remove the fuel filter, then undo the two bolts holding the fuel filter bracket in place and remove the bracket. The EGR valve is jsut below this its held in with 2 bolts that are a little awkward to get to. Just disconnecting the wires will throw up a fault code.
